Blossom & Sol Wellness is an outdoor multi-sensory experience where attendees will be able to experience a variety of mental & physical wellness related activities, which includes, meditation, yoga, sound therapy, women’s health, and etc.

The highlight of Blossom & Sol Wellness is our “Soul Awakening Yoga & Meditation Practice.” Attendees will be immersed in sacred sounds, rhythms, and frequencies, with the assistance of ancestral African drumming and Tibetan singing bowls, in order to help cleanse the soul and to reconnect with their higher selves.

The Healing Significance Behind the Blossom & Sol Wellness Soul Awakening Yoga & Meditation Practice

Blossom & Sol Wellness’ “Soul Awakening Yoga & Meditation Practice” will increase a natural altered state of consciousness, deeper self-awareness, reduce tension and negative feelings, provide a deep sense of tranquility, and will assist you in reconnecting with the natural world around you and with your higher self. We will be using the assistance of rhythms, vibrations, and frequencies with African drumming & Tibetan singing bowls in order to heal parts of our body that are in need of healing and to gain mental clarity.

The African drum, which is used all over The Continent (Africa) and throughout different parts of the diaspora is used for ceremonies, to heal, to communicate, as well at to celebrate with one another.

For our meditation practice we will use an over 5,000 year old technique of using singing bowls in order to achieve a higher and deeper meditative state within ourselves. Singing bowls are a combination of metal & crystal vessels that when struck, shaken, or scraped, emit different frequencies to encourage meditation and relaxation.

For many centuries, sound has been used as an alternative healing method. Our bodies contain 7 main energy centers / chakras which correspond to specific tones which the singing bowls can naturally produce. The body is composed of approximately 50 to 65 percent water. Sound waves carry on water and the more hydrated you are then the more likely the frequencies and rhythms will have a penetrating effect. It’s important to come to the Soul Awakening Yoga & Meditation Practice hydrated before immersing yourself in rhythms of the African drumming and sound bath.

2018 Blossom & Sol Fest Recap

Our Founder

Coco Bates, African American Events, African American Festivals, Black Events, Black Festivals, Festivals in Houston, Festivals in Texas, African American Events in Texas, Natural Hair Festival, Natural Hair Festival Houston, Natural Hair Fest Texas, Austin Natural Hair Festival, Blossom and Sol Fest

Coco Bates is an influencer coach and a travel, fashion, and beauty blogger for Blossom And Sol.  After realizing that there was a need for an accurate and positive representation of how Black women were portrayed in the media, Coco made it her mission to create Blossom And Sol, an online platform where Black women are viewed in an accurate and positive manner. It is Coco’s mission to globally unify and uplift Black women through fashion, beauty, culture, and lifestyle. The Curly Girl Picnic, currently known as the Blossom & Sol Natural Hair Festival, which was hosted in 2018, was originally planned as a gathering to host 20 – 30 women in Austin’s Zilker Park to vibe out and discuss natural hair, culture, and whatever else came to mind. At first thought, the idea was great, but a few days after making the event public there were over 700 people who had RSVP’d to the Curly Girl Picnic.

“The 3rd Annual Blossom & Sol Natural Hair Festival is being continued out of the necessity to fellowship and be surrounded by appropriate cultural representations of ourselves. Being able to bring so many of our people together and to form life-long relationships with many of the attendees and brands has been surreal to experience. This year we’ll be kicking EVERYTHING up a few notches, everything from our entertainment, panelists, and our layout. Also, ladies… feel free to bring your Kings with you!

I can’t wait to vibe out with y’all!”
